An Oil Infused Christmas

What better time to bust out your 'secret ingredient' than for your holiday meals and treats? Add that extra special touch for your family or guests! The sky is the limit but here are a few yummy ideas to try.....


**NOTE: There isn't any hard & fast rule for adding essential oils to your recipes. Just start with a tiny amount (maybe a bit on a dipped toothpick) when you are experimenting. A little can go a long way!




BREAKFAST


Waffles & Pancakes: Add 1–4 drops of Orange essential oil to wet waffle mix, maple syrup, or honey butter!
Juice
: Add some Ningxia Red, Nitro, and/or couple drops of orange & lemon oils.
Quiche & Casseroles: Try adding drop of rosemary or basil.
Pastries: Use cinnamon and orange oils to make a cream cheese spread or glaze.


LUNCH/SNACK TIME/APPETIZERS


Herb Cheese ball Recipe from Young Living


• 2 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar, Pepper Jack, or Colby cheese (or a combination), room temperature
• 2 8-oz packages cream cheese, softened
• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
• Sage essential oil
• Thyme essential oil
• Black pepper essential oil
• 1 1/2 cups pecan pieces, toasted

Mix together cheese, cream cheese, chives, and essential oils using a stand mixer, adjusting ingredients to achieve your desired flavor. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, then form into 2 cheeseballs. Roll in pecan pieces to coat surface. Chill for 8+ hours before serving with crackers or veggies.


Fruit Dip: Add lemon, orange, tangerine, or cinnamon oils to sweetened whipped cream or try...
8 oz. softened cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
1/3 cup sugar, maple syrup, or honey
2 tsp vanilla extract
3-4 drops of lemon or orange oil. Mix all ingredients together with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
Veggie Dip: Add dill or pepper oils to your cream cheese or ranch dips.

Drinks
*Lemon and lime oil to your sparkling soda.
*Cinnamon and nutmeg oils with cream to your coffee or warm milk.
*Orange or peppermint to hot chocolate 



Nuts: Cinnamon, ginger, or nutmeg in your favorite sweetened nuts recipe.







DINNER

Yams: 2 drops clove and 3 drops cinnamon to sweet potato or candied yams recipes
Ham: Orange and cinnamon oil to ham glaze
Pasta: A drop or two of basil and oregano oils to pasta sauce.
Steak: A drop of black pepper oil to your butter smear.
Fruit Salad: lemon or lime oils
Salad Dressings: Rosemary, basil, black pepper, or orange oils.
Stuffing: Sage, celery seed oils.


DESSERTS

Pies: 
*3 drops nutmeg oil, 2 drops cinnamon and 1 drop ginger to your pumpkin pie recipe. 
*1 drop of cinnamon to your crust recipe for pumpkin or apple pies
*3 drops orange or 1 drop cinnamon to your crust recipe for chocolate pie
*1 drop of nutmeg and 1 drop cinnamon to your crust recipe for apple pie.
*6 drops peppermint oil to your brownie recipe or 1 drop to your chocolate pie.

Chocolate:1 drop of peppermint or 3 drops orange to your chocolate dip
