Having fun here in Colorado :) I just crocheted this candy cane diffuser ornament to give away to loved ones as well as for business samples (with peppermint). 🍭BUT it now has me in the Christmas mood before thanksgiving!!! 🎄
This combo is especially wonderful if you live in a windy dry climate! Around the area that I live, people often get what I call 'Colorado Glove' which basically means the dry winter air sucks the life out of your hands, making them red from the wrist down (particularly if you don't have any patience and end up washing your hands in freezing cold water! You can end up with dry cracking knuckles and THAT is no fun!
This is such a cute gift idea for all the animal-lovers in our lives or for your very own fur baby!
Perfect for this time of year with all of the ice and snow. May also help protect feet from salt.
Add it to a little gift basket with an Animals Scents blend
such as Aroma Repel or T-Away
and some YL pet chews!!
WINTER PAW PROTECTION LOTION BAR
1/3 cup beeswax 1/3 cup coconut oil 5 Drops of Vitamin E Oil 6 Drops of Lavender essential Oil. 3 Drops Patchouli essential oil 2 Drops Myrrh
Melt the beeswax and coconut oil over low heat. (I used a double boiler). After melted remove from heat, cool slightly, then add the Vitamin E and Lavender EO. Pour in molds and cool for two hours on the counter, or in refrigerator until set.
If you don't feel like making your own lotion bar, simply use Young Living's Animal Scents ointment shown in the video below. Gary Young likes to use it on his dog's paws before the dogsled race! Read the article about it *HERE*
I love these DIY mason jar foaming soap dispensers! (This pic shows a regular pump which is also an option but foaming makes it last longer.)
What a fun idea and great for Christmas giving too! I think when I make mine, I will keep it unpainted and tie wrap raffia around the lid. You could even put decorative colored marbles in the bottom. There are a lot of tutorials out there already. HERE and HERE are a couple.
Include some NON-TOXIC homemade foaming soap infused with Young Living essential oils! Yes, you 'could' use plain ol' dish soap but many are toxic regardless of what the label says and you don't want to do that to your liver! All those nasty products add up!
Here is the recipe I use in my regular foaming dispensers.
Pamper your skin or hair with castor oil and Young Living essential oils!
I LOVE castor oil! It is super thick, nourishing, and wonderful! If you want to put it on your eyelashes, use it plain, of course, but if you want to use it on your beard, eyebrows, hair or scalp, ylang ylang or cedarwood essential oils are wonderful additions. Just pick one or make a combo.
When a dry throat is annoying me, I like to use some lavender, thieves, or clove Vitality on it. I simply apply it to the back of my throat with my thumb. I like Melrose blend on the outside of my neck or under my jawline too. But since some folks may find that too spicy for them or unpleasant tasting (as with Lavender), they may want to make this spray! No refrigeration necessary and the vodka keeps the oils well mixed. This recipe is for spraying in your throat...not drinking, lol. Thanks goes to Stacy McDonald for sharing.
Soothing Throat Spray*
1/4 oz. Vodka 1 1/2 oz. Purified Water 10 drops Thieves Vitality Essential Oil Blend 5 drops Peppermint Vitality essential oil 5 drops Lemon Vitality essential oil 2 drops Stevia or 1 tsp. honey 2 oz. glass spray bottle
Blend together and store in a 2 oz. dark glass spray bottle
Spray 1-2 squirts on the back of the throat for soothing relief.
*I only recommend using Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils since they are pure enough to be ingested. Lower quality oils may be toxic.
Combine the yummy pleasure, invigorating aroma and health benefits of cinnamon by making your own this fall. Bonus...your friends will think you smell great! Thanks goes to Stacy McDonald for this guest post! Enjoy :)
